Two more people have been arrested related to a theft at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by police.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions follow an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the incident, two women had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and were later released.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
